Army staff sergeant Ryan Pitts received the Medal of Honor Monday for his bravery during what President Obama called one of the fiercest battles of the entire war in Afghanistan. After his outpost came under heavy attack in 2008, the paratrooper became the sole survivor, continuing to defend the post even after all his fellow paratroopers had fallen.
