The U.S. government is secretly collecting and analyzing the phone records of millions of Americans with the PRISM program. One operation, authorized by a secret court order, requires Verizon to give the National Security Agency extensive data on phone calls of customers from April 25 to July 19. This is one possible process of how the NSA and Verizon are operating.
