Hillary’s got the shimmies, but she’s not the only one…

Amid Monday’s post-debate din and hoopla, one GIF emerged poised to become a part of our memescape: Hillary Clinton exhaling, smiling and moving her shoulders in a way reminiscent of a shimmy. Look familiar?

When Donald Trump praised New York City’s “stop-and-frisk” program, Lester Holt pointed out it was deemed unconstitutional.

Clinton vs. Trump: Everything you need to know about the first debate

The first fall presidential debate of 2016 is being anticipated with all the hype (and class) of a heavyweight boxing match. Perhaps we should call it “Smackdown at the Mack,” since it is being held at the Hofstra University’s David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on New York’s Long Island.

So how should you watch this D-Day of Debates? We have some tips for you:

Trump finally says Obama born in U.S., blames Clinton for controversy

Donald Trump said Friday he now believes President Obama was born in the United States, seeking to bury an issue he has used repeatedly the past five-and-a-half years to appeal to ultra-conservative audiences.

“President Obama was born in the United States – period,” Trump said after an event on military endorsements before walking off the stage without taking questions.

As reporters in the back of the room stood, yelled and shouted questions at Trump, the crowd invited to the event began yelling “U-S-A! U-S-A!”

We don’t come to this decision easily. This newspaper has not recommended a Democrat for the nation’s highest office since before World War II — if you’re counting, that’s more than 75 years and nearly 20 elections. The party’s over-reliance on government and regulation to remedy the country’s ills is at odds with our belief in private-sector ingenuity and innovation. Our values are more about individual liberty, free markets and a strong national defense. We’ve been critical of Clinton’s handling of certain issues in the past. But unlike Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton has experience in actual governance, a record of service and a willingness to delve into real policy.

Our illustrator draw Hillary Clinton from her speech last night accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination. She is officially the first female presidential candidate for any major party.

I am filled with hope when I look into my 3-year-old granddaughter’s eyes. I am filling her mind with opportunities and her heart with hope, and I draw that from the fact that Hillary will be president one day.
