Donald Glover revives Childish Gambino on new song ‘Me and Your Mama’

Between his critically-acclaimed FX series Atlanta, the announcement that he’s playing Lando Calrissian in the forthcoming Han Solo Star Wars film, and a new Childish Gambino record, 2016 has been Donald Glover’s year.

Glover continued his victory lap on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, sharing a new track from the next Gambino record, Awaken My Love!, his first release since his 2014 mixtape STN MTN .

For fans of Gambino’s more hip hop-oriented music, the new track, titled Me and Your Mama, is quite a departure, as Glover sings until he’s hoarse over six-plus minutes of psychedelic soul.

Awaken My Love! drops Dec. 2 — pre-order the new album at this link.

Don’t you dare try to get spoilers for ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2

image

If you want to know exactly how Strange things are going to get on Netflix, you’re out of luck.

Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy spoke with ScreenRant about the show’s upcoming second season, but when asked for details he did not deliver.

“I’m going to be very judicious when it comes to talking about Stranger Things, because I live in the land of spoiler paranoia these days,“ he told the site.

But what if we said pretty please?

See how ‘South Park’ worked in Trump victory at the last minute

image

South Park is known for its rapid turnaround time. It’s now routine for the crew to get a story from script to screen in a week.

But Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Co. may have outdone themselves with their post-election episode, which aired Wednesday night on Comedy Central.

It appears they either drastically rewrote the script for “Oh, Jeez” starting Tuesday night or they wrote and animated two outcomes for the election, adding a new opening scene that reflects Donald Trump’s surprising victory and the gobsmacked reaction it provoked in half of the country. And Bill Clinton adjusting to the news that he won’t be going back to the White House as first gentleman.

Watch ‘A Year in the Life’ by 'Gilmore Girls’ rules

image

The long-awaited Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life revival is almost here, after months of counting down and scouring the Web for spoilers and on-set photos. It is a moment nine years in the making, and marks the return of show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

So, in the early hours of Friday, Nov. 25, when you can open Netflix finally and hit play, make sure to really revel in it with these Gilmore-inspired tips.

Consider your wardrobe carefully. You want to look cute, of course, but also be comfortable in a “hey, let-me-just-toss-on-these-cutoffs-and-this-tie-dye-shirt-with-my-cowboy-boots-and-drive-you-to-Chilton” way. Encouraged: A Bangles T-shirt or any other T-shirt Lane would envy. (Extra points for a vintage The Clash tee). Also good: Your favorite adorable mismatched jammies, a hat that makes you look fabulous or anything with Yale written on it. Banned: Nothing from Harvard, Talbot’s or a Renaissance Festival.

Choose your company wisely. Just as Rory always had Paris (or Lane) and Lorelai always had Sookie, it’s worth it to watch with your BFF if at all possible. It’s also best to watch with another die-hard fan. You don’t want to be catching someone up on everything they missed in Stars Hollow’ from 2000 and 2007. Or dealing with anyone who keeps asking why they talk so fast and why Kirk has so many jobs. And no one named T.J. or Digger allowed!

Lucille bashes her way into ‘Walking Dead’ weapons arsenal

image

The Walking Dead has an imposing new addition to its ever-escalating arms race: Lucille the bat.

Wielded with impunity by villainous newcomer Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the barbed-wire-covered club has claimed Abraham and Glenn and remains a constant threat to those who don’t bow to the Saviors leader.

Dead property master John Sanders offers some details about Lucille — firmly a part of Negan, Morgan says — and how she fits in with the all-stars of Dead’s arsenal.

Michelle Obama gives an exit interview to ‘Vogue’

image

Vogue nabbed an exit interview with the first lady.

Michelle Obama covers the fashion bible’s December issue, complete with stunning portraits taken by Annie Leibovitz with the first lady dressed in patriotic white (Carolina Herrera) and blue (Atelier Versace).

In the accompanying piece, readers get a peek inside Obama’s mindset as she prepares to leave the White House along with fun trivia, from the first lady’s fitness jaunts (she and staffers hit a SoulCycle class together weekly) to her basic fashion litmus test (“Is it cute?”). But since the piece was completed prior to the election, there is little mention of Donald Trump.
